Learning Techs

To learn new moves, you must visit Video Tachibana, which is an area that will become accessible very early in the game.  Tech points are obtained through defeating enemies and must be used if you wish to learn new techniques.  Tech points are not collected individually for each character in the party, but there is one tech point count for the entire party.  Split the points among the party members as you see fit.  Pick a video from the video store that fits your needs.  When you pick it up from the shelf, it will have information about who can watch it, how many tech points you need, etc. before you can confirm whether you want it or not.  Then, once you have the video in your hand, you need to check it out by talking to Wataru, who is the head of Video Tachibana.  Once you check it out, you can head into the back room of Video Tachibana to watch it.  If certain criteria are not met, such as not having enough tech points, etc. nothing will happen, otherwise, a message confirming that you have learned a new technique will pop up.  To check out another video, you need to first return the video you already have in your hand.

After you learn a move, you must “set” it before you can use it in combat.  Go into your menu, and go under “Techs”, go to the desired move you wish to “set” and confirm.  That move will now be available through the ‘s’ key.
